Assassination Attempt on Queen Elizabeth Fails: English Call for Revenge
London, England (AP)
English citizens have been whipped nearly into a riot today, when an assassination attempt on Queen Elizabeth narrowly failed. British officers quickly arrested the perpetrators of the crime, and< report that the attack was perpetrated by a group of Scottish nationalists seeking to exact vengeance upon the English government for recent actions taken against the newly-founded Scottish nation. British officials have been quick to associate the attack with the Scottish government itself, and many have begun to call for war as an act of retribution.
American Naval Task Force Dispatched to British Isles
Washington, D.C. (CNN)
The American government has, in reaction to Scottish demands for security during peace talks, dispatched a task force from the US Atlantic Fleet, headed by the USS Wasp LHD, to Scottish waters. The official mission for these ships is to keep the peace by preventing agressive actions against Scotland (or England) during the talks which are still scheduled to begin soon in Geneva.
Scottish Publicity Campaign Countered by Alleged Attempts at Life of Queen Elizabeth
London, England (AP)
The support which had been previously won over by a continuous Scottish media campaign to win the support of the English citizenry has been nearly stamped out today with the reports coming from English officials that the Scottish government (for some reason incomprehensible to me) sponsored the recent attempt on Queen Elizabeth's life. Tensions seem to be mounting again between the two nations, perhaps reaching a peak higher than previously attained.
England Invites France, Germany, USSR to Military Alliance Talks
London, England (AP)
The English government has extended an invitation to the USSR, Germany, and France to attend a state meeting in London next week to discuss a military and political alliance between these nations. Many western Europeans are outraged, as well as are many English citizens. The English government supported its actions by stating, "I'm sure these nations will be quite supportive of such an alliance, considering that socialist parties are in control of all of their govenrments."
The invitation was also origionally extended to the United States, but the US declined to attend in lieu of recent diplomatic developments between the USSR and the US concerning increased US trade with China. It seems that the United States has become more interested in securing alliances in Eastern Europe, East Asia, and Germany than in its traditional policy of a Western-European-based alliance system. Relations between the US and England have steadily deteriorated since Prime Minister Sheffield took the helm of the English government. Many have said that Anglo-American relations have reached an all-time low the likes of which has not been seen since the War of 1812. Many English citizens oppose the government's move towards relations with Russia, and desire to remain close to the United States. The United States citizenry has also expressed desires to retain ties with England, but not if England approaches the USSR.
Spain Begins Efforts to Reduce Unemployment
Madrid, Spain (CNN)
The Spanish government announced today that they would establish a Workers Project Coalition. The Coalition is intended to reduce Spanish unemployment to almost nil. Under the new plan, welfare will be provided for the unemployed for one month after becoming unemployed. At that time, if a new job has not been found, Spanish citizens will be forced into the military or, if they prefer, to join a civil service organization dedicated to the improving of Spanish infrastructure and various domestic productions.

The Ukranian government announced recently a plan to generate money for the armed forces by selling off excess battle tanks and various other equipment.
Those interested should contact President Brown as soon as possible. The sale is good only as long as supplies last.
Poland, Ukraine Form Military Alliance
Warsaw, Poland
The Polish government announced the latest in a series of alliances into which the Polish government has recently entered. The treaty, which provides for limited cooperation between these nations' military forces, also provides for free trade agreements. Poland will send heavy machinery and other equipment to the Ukraine, and in exchange will recieve Ukranian raw materials at a reduced price. Already, joint military exercises are scheduled for these nations' armed forces, to take place later this year.
Germany Announces Ban on Gas Centrifuge Exports
Berlin, Germany
In attempts to further their own political interests, the German government has today banned the export of German gas centrifuges, upon which much of the world relies for their supply. The German Chancellor Noah Scherrer was quoted in his statement concerning the project, "... stop selling gas centifuges to countries all together. The only way that a Country will be aloud to purchase them is if I deem them worth of having nuclear technology."
Japanese-American Alliance in the Works
Tokyo, Japan (CNN)
The American President Vincent M. Goetz has announced plans to attend a state meeting in Tokyo, Japan, which will involve the Japanese government and the German and Chinese governments. Talks are likely to include trade issues, especially with England and the Soviet Union.

India Seeks Ties With Russia, Demands Pakistan Withdrawal from Kashmir
New Delhi, India (AP)
The Indian government is rife with activity today, as a large portion of the Indian military has been called into active service in preperation for an attack on the province of Kashmir. The mobilization further backs up Indian demands for Pakistani withdrawal from the area.
The USSR has made no promises to the Indian government, but it is expected that if China enters the war on the side of the Pakistanis, and the Iranians remain netural again, then the USSR will provide military support to the Indian government.
Sub-Saharan Africa Embroiled in Civil War
Brussels, Belgium (AP)
The civil wars which had previously engulfed several Sub-Saharan Africa have spread into nearly every nation in the region as ethnic groups cross boarders for freedom and for power plays. The area, already economically backward, is likely to be engulfed by bloody civil war for years to come.
The US has already promised aid to the local governments to suppress the movements, but these movements are already well-entrenched and will not likely be extinguished easily.
